The Moscow Region Speed Skating Center «Kolomna» was opened on 31st May 2006.
The sports complex finds itself in 100 km away from Moscow. The beautiful ice palace is the pride and honor of not only the Moscow Region but the whole Russia.
The Speed Skating Center of the general surface of more than 70 000 square meters includes huge speedy ice arena, sports-training complex, medical rehabilitation center, health-training swimming-pool, three Jacuzzi baths, saunas, playground, gym, conference hall, winter garden, café, trading zone, administration offices, archeological exhibition, field-and-track, museums of speed skating history and skates.
The infrastructure of the Kolomna ice center permits to develop on its basis different sports like speed skating, short-track speed skating, roller-skating, curling, figure skating, basketball, tennis, badminton, mini-football, and also conduct conferences, seminars, exhibitions, corporate business and holiday events.
The Kolomna ice has successfully held large international competitions: ISU World Single Distances Championships, four speed skating and short-track speed skating ISU World Cups and ISU European Speed Skating Championships.
In the season 2015-2016 the Speed Skating Center «Kolomna» was acknowledged the 6th fastest rink of the world (ladies’ results, 8th best according to the men’s results).
60% of the best Russian speed skating results of the season were set on the Kolomna ice. Particularly successful the ice arena became for ladies and men at 1 500 m and for ladies at 1 000 and 3 000 m (in 70-75% of the races).
Speed Skating Center «Kolomna» is the one of quality and outstanding infrastructure, being one of the best in Europe.
In 2009 Speed Skating Center «Kolomna» participated in IAKS Award and won the Distinction prize.
The sports center became the winner of the first National award for exemplary sports and leisure facilities «Arena» in the category of winter sports facilities.
Speed Skating Center «Kolomna» was announced the best in Russia among the winter sports facilities in the framework of the International sports forum «Russia is a sports country» which took place in October 2009 in Kazan.
In 2011 the Center took the prizes for the «Speedy ice» and as the best «Ice palace of the year».
From 2009 to 2013 the sports center had been winning the Moscow Region review-contest of sports facilities.
